This time of year, many of us are busy checking off wish lists and searching for gifts that will bring joy, comfort, or a moment of delight. But there’s a saying I often come back to during the holidays:
“The person who has their health has a thousand wishes, but the person without their health only has one.”
When you think about it that way, giving the gift of health becomes one of the most meaningful things you can offer, even if it feels a little harder to define than a sweater or a gadget.
So what does it actually mean to give someone the gift of health?
It’s not about perfection, or fixing someone. It’s about outcomes: more energy, better moods, clearer thinking, and the ability to feel more like themselves, not just for a moment, but long after the holiday season has come and gone.

Beyond the Moment: Why Health Is a Different Kind of Gift
When we give a gift, we’re usually hoping to create a feeling: happiness, comfort, relaxation, or pleasure. That’s why things like massages or spa gift certificates are so popular this time of year. You know exactly what you’re giving: stress relief.
But what if you could give something that creates lasting change?
- More energy to get through the day
- More stable moods
- Better focus and mental clarity
- A stronger immune system during winter
Health is one of those assets we often take for granted until something feels off. Fatigue, brain fog, digestive issues, hormonal symptoms, or emotional ups and downs can quietly become “normal,” even though they don’t have to be.
And this is where giving health can feel vague. The result we want for our loved ones is clear, but how do you actually help them get there?
Knowledge Is Power (Especially in Winter)
One of the most effective ways to support someone’s health is by empowering them with better information about their own body.
Winter brings unique challenges. Vitamin D levels drop sharply in December because the sun sits too low in the sky. Low vitamin D can affect mood, immunity, and inflammation, all things many people struggle with at this time of year.
We also know that gut bacteria shift in winter. Our routines change, stress increases, food choices look different, and sleep is often disrupted. Because the gut and brain are constantly communicating, these changes can show up as cravings, digestive issues, low mood, poor sleep, or increased anxiety.
When people understand why they’re feeling the way they are (like what’s happening in their blood, their gut, or their cells) they’re far more likely to take the right steps forward. When people know better, they often do better… and then they feel better.
Why Guesswork Doesn’t Work
One of the biggest challenges I see in practice is that people genuinely want to feel better, but they don’t know where to start.
- They turn to Dr. Google.
- They try supplements without knowing if they’re needed.
- They layer strategies on top of each other, hoping something sticks.
That’s why I rely on testing in the clinic.
For example, a simple finger-prick test can show your omega-6 to omega-3 ratio and tell us whether your current supplements are actually supporting brain health, inflammation, or hormones. It takes the guesswork out of feeling better and replaces it with clarity and direction.
This is also exactly why I wrote my book, to give women understanding and confidence instead of overwhelm.
The Gift That Keeps on Giving
So yes, a massage gift card is wonderful. But you can also give someone:
-
Answers about their health
-
Tools to improve energy and mood
-
A clearer understanding of what their body actually needs
-
A personalized plan instead of trial and error
This holiday season, consider helping your loved ones be proactive, so when the new year arrives, they’re already equipped with insight, support, and a path forward.
Gift cards are a beautiful option because they allow your loved one to choose the services that fit them best, whether that’s testing, a consultation, or guidance tailored to their goals.
For anyone who’s ready for more energy, clearer thinking, or better emotional balance, or who wants to give that gift to someone they care about, sessions and gift cards are available in our new app.
We’ll help you understand what your body needs and create a plan that actually works, not just for January, but for the year ahead.
